Recording Memories, Weaving Stories
ORAL HISTORY FORUM 2006
Date: 21st February 2006 (Tuesday)
Venue: AV Theatre at Old Ford Factory (351 Upper Bukit Timah Road)
Time: 9am (Registration starts at 8.30am)
History comes alive in NAS’ latest exhibition gallery “Memories at Old Ford Factory” which uses oral history extensively to depict daily life of individuals under Japanese rule. In conjunction with the opening of the exhibition gallery where one can see how oral history is creatively deployed, OHC is organising a forum to discuss issues related to using and doing oral history, with particular emphasis on interviewing techniques and ethical issues. In addition, as OHC is currently revamping its oral history manual, valuable inputs from participants will be incorporated to further distinguish it from other manuals in the market.
Programme highlights:
– Tour of “Memories at Old Ford Factory”
– Sharing of experiences in doing and using oral history
– Appreciate OHC’s extensive collection
Please feel free to contact Claire Yeo at 63323297 or email claire_yeo@nhb.gov.sg for any clarifications. RSVP by 17 February 2006 (Friday) with Patricia Yu at 63323236 or email patricia_yu@nhb.gov.sg.
We look forward to seeing you at the forum.
